Speedy Romeo
Romeo & Juliet may have survived had their families had access to the amiable and festive atmosphere of this new Clinton St. Italian. Pizza is the main character in this story but Chicken Parm and a KC Strip Steak attempt to steal the show. Save room for ACT 5: Affogato vs. Olive Oil Cake!
Just like it’s Brooklyn predecessor, the newly expanded, 100+ seat Lower East Side location features dishes all prepared by Chef Justin Bazdarich in a wood-burning oven and grill. The room recombines two separate restaurants around a marble horseshoe bar, serving up Italian wine, local craft beer, working class tall boys, and inventive craft cocktails. The expanded space features antique-green shelving and steel and aquamarine booths and banquettes for bigger parties. Guests can eye the Pavesi pizza oven painted like Van Halen’s “Frankenstrat” electric guitar. The restaurant utilizes salvaged décor and a bright yellow marquee sign from the defunct Rentas Liquors.
For large groups, we’ve also introduced two new family-style menus. The Triple Crown features our signature Caesar Salad, Mozzarella Crostini, Stuffed Peppers, and choice of Prime Rib, Porchetta, Lobster + Arancini Extravaganza, and more. Our Fight For your Right to Pizza Party menu includes pizza, wings in three combinations, pitchers of beer and prosecco, topped off with our house-made Olive Oil Cake or Banana Split Sundae (sparklers included).
Speedy Romeo strives to be an institution in the LES just like it’s Brooklyn predecessor.
